Muotikummitus is a multidisciplinary artist who works in a variety of media. They want to raise questions about our absurd textile consumption habits and experiment with new ways to make unwanted clothes last longer. To this end, Muotikummitus utilizes upcycling to repurpose clothing, creating something that is of higher value and can be used in a multitude of ways, from extending the life of a garment to creating a unique, one-of-a-kind piece of art. Muotikummitus seeks to push boundaries with their work, using unconventional materials and combining them with traditional craftsmanship to create something new by embracing the idea of upcycling. These one-of-a-kind wearable art outfits and accessories are created by adopting the DIY attitude in self-made culture, from design to customization,  production and photography-based documentation.
